Coordinated Capacity Calculation

The main purpose of the Coordinated Capacity Calculation (CCC) is the computation of the maximum available capacity considering also security analysis for the given borders and each direction based on the Common Grid Model (CGM) along with contingencies, critical elements of the grid, remedial actions etc. This CGM is generated from the Individual Grid Models (IGMs) files provided by the South East Europe (SEE) TSOs (IPTO, ESO, Transelectrica). Working in conjunction with the SEE TSOs, the Regional Security Coordinator (RSC) for the SEE Capacity Calculation Region (CCR), Selene-CC, perform daily data-quality checks, merging input files and calculating the maximum import and export net transfer capacities (NTCs) and Available Transfer Capacities on Greece-Bulgaria and Romania-Bulgaria borders. Moreover, concerning the security assessment and remedial actions, after the execution of the CCC service the type of remedial actions, either they are preventive or curative, the location of remedial actions, the critical elements with which are associated will  be available to SEE TSOs.

This CCC service is executed for the following timeframes in accordance with Article 21 of 2015/1222:

  • For Day-Ahead capacity allocation (D-2)
  • For Intraday capacity allocation (D-1 and Intraday)
